- Night Watchmen -

This photograph was taken in Feb 09. I am extrmely proud of how it came out. Out of about twenty photographs, I finally was able to shoot a picture of this magnificant bird. This is a great horned owl, I am sad to say I can't say the location.

I chose the title "Night Watchmen" because owls are guardians of the night. They are more active them, and they always seem to be on high alert. The owl is one of the biggest known predators, so the title seemed to fit this beautiful bird.

Note: The is a real picture, and I am proud to annouce one of our best bird photographs as of yet.

Comments and Favorites are always welcome. Also, please feel free to take a look at my gallery for it is always appreciated.

Thank so much for the comment! I appreciate hearing the comments, and trust me it was a hard shot to get. Took me twenty slides in order to get it the way I wanted. I was very excited when I found this shot as I looked over the photos from my computer.
Again though, thanks for the comment.

Thats what I get for using extension tubes and not having a real macro lens I guess, hugely reduced light to the lens and I have to get less than an inch away to focus :P

But its always awesome when we get one that just makes you sit back and go *wow*

Yeah. What camera do you use? I use a Canon Rebel XTi. Not the best one, but it does it's job well. Hope to get a 40D in the Canon in the future. -adds to watch list-

Personally? wow. What did I do to receive such an honor?

I am using the D80, I am drooling over the 105mm Nikkor Micro lens. I cant imagine having F2.8 to work with, I tried it out at the store the other day and it was wonderful. Sooo pricey though. Hoping to get it this summer.
